"The White Horse restaurant is tucked away of the Swindon to Avebury Rd in the little hamlet of Winterbourne Bassett. The White Horse inn itself is a typical village Inn and is very quiet and homely. They have built a glass conservatory that is used as the main dining area and it is certainly a very pleasant location to sit and eat. The food ranges from a fixed menu to specials of the day all served with a wide choice of vegatables. To add to the homely atmosphere food is named using local names such as Avebury cream escolotes of chicken ect:. They also have a good selection of good reasonably priced wines.
We have personally used this restaurant serveral times and also use it as our fall back restaurant if we fail to find a different one to take people.
It is a long time since I took a young lady for a quiet meal away from the busy main stream haunts but I am sure that this is the ideal place to take that certain person who means a little more to you than all the others and a great place to sit, eat, drink and talk.
The service is also just right, not toO fast and not toO slow, they will always let you eat at your own pace however busy it gets.

"Hello Kath and Chris.

On behalf of Eunice and our family I would like to thank you very much for making our evening on Friday a total pleasure.
Everyone said how good the food was and how friendly the staff are - even you know who. It was also agreed that it
was something we would like to do again, so you might have to put up with all of us again in the future. Thank you.

Best wishes

Terry Davis.
